Many of my readers and friends ask me this question weather is there a way to unlock iPhone 4 on baseband 4.12.01 or 4.11.08 or not.
Last month, there popped up many unlocking solutions for these two basebands including SAM unlock method, Gevey SIM ultra 5.1, R-SIM IV and Rebel Micro sim interposer. But the only legit and working method was SAM unlock which required nothing but Cydia inside your iPhone. Just a few days later, Apple fixed the SAM unlock method and thus it stopped working but people who already got their iPhone unlocked using sam technique were safe as long as they have had backed up unlock activation tickets.
Then there came ApplenBerry's Gevey sim ultra 5.1 who promised to unlock iPhone 4 on any baseband till 4.12.01. Just when the SAM unlock got patched, ApplenBerry announced that Gevey ultra interposer was based on the SAM unlock and so they recalled all the Sim cards back.
Other than these, there is no unlocking solution for these two basebands, I guess. Though R-SIM IV and Rebel Micro sim pro are there but why trust them? There are no words on these two interposers if they really work or not. If someone have tried any of these interposers, please let me know if they are legit or not in the comments below.

If your iPhone 4 is locked on Vodafone carrier, then you can get it unlocked for free by following the guide posted here. And if it is locked on At&t and your phone is off-contract, you can get it unlocked for free by simply contacting them. There is also an iPhone unlocking service available. Try that.
Other than these, there is no unlocking solution for these two basebands, I guess. Though R-SIM IV and Rebel Micro sim pro are there but why trust them? When was this posted? It sais on a recent article that appleberry is accpeting pre orders for Gevey ultra that will unlock basebands 4.12 and below.
@above person Gevey sim ultra cannot unlock 4.12 baseband..it was scam

I feel Samsung company much smart then iphone ,Samsung they don't care about lock or unlock they solded 9 millions S3 in one month ,and we still thinking about to find solution to unlock our fucking iphone ,,i want to say to Apple company try to change try to be like sammsung ,now i'll going to find a solution not to unlock my fucking iphone but to selling it ,fuck to me if i thinking about an iphone mobile again
