Well, the jailbreaking communities are really fast and actively working on finding new exploits for the newly released iPad and ios 5.1. Yesterday, MuscleNerd posted some screenshots that showed iPad 3 jailbroken on iOs 5.1 and today Stefan Esser a.k.a i0n1c demonstrates iPad 3 jailbroken untethered on iOs 5.1.
MuscleNerd has also stated that two more different methods have been discovered by i0n1c and Grant Pual (chpwn) to jailbreak the new iPad. So it's just a matter of 1 or two months before we have jailbreak for the iPad 3, I guess.
